Message From the President

Welcome to the start of another exciting school year for the Oakton High School Orchestras! Concerts, competitions, festivals, trips and other wonderful musical opportunities await your child. However, in order to ensure the ongoing success of the orchestra program, we need your help!

The OHS Orchestra Booster Club is a parent-run organization dedicated to supporting your student musician and the overall OHS orchestra program through fundraising and other “hands on” volunteer support. The school orchestra program receives minimal funding and staffing from the county. We must fill in the gaps with strong, active parental support. Your participation in our endeavor is not only a way to enhance your child’s orchestra experience, but also a way to stay connected with your child’s high school world (despite their objections!)

Please review the orchestra booster club positions and volunteer for one as soon as possible. We need to be planning for the year's activities now. I realize that we all lead extremely busy lives, and finding room for one more commitment seems impossible. But the quality of your child's orchestra experience truly depends on your willingness to be involved. If you have any questions about these positions, don't hesitate to contact me.
