Welcome to the 2011-12 OHS Orchestra Program!

Greetings to all new and returning OHS Orchestra families from the OHS Orchestra Booster Club.  The new school year has just begun and student backpacks and kitchen tables are crowded with forms, calendars and check-writing activities.  Please don’t overlook those creative and colorful Orchestra forms that have hopefully made their way into your home, in particular (click on link to each document if you need another copy):

Orchestra Program Kick-Off Meeting Flyer:  Please attend this valuable informational meeting on Thursday September 8th at 7PM in the OHS Lecture Hall to hear about programming plans for the coming school year.  Measurements and orders for concert attire will take place as well.  Please bring your checkbook if you are ordering concert wear that evening.

Student/Parent Information Form:  please neatly complete this form with student and parent contact information.  In the interest of saving trees, starting October 1, almost all communications about orchestra activities (including concerts, fundraisers, etc) will come to you via email rather than flyer or handout distributions.  It is ESSENTIAL that this form be completed and returned to Mrs. Myers by September 16 so that you won’t miss out on critical news and reminders. 

Participation Fee Form:  please complete and return this form with your $30 check payable to “OHS Orchestra Booster Club” as soon as possible.  These funds are necessary to defray a portion of the basic operating costs of the program for the current school year.  Amount is unchanged from last year. 

Student Handbook:  Please review and keep on hand.  It contains a calendar of important dates, events and policies.  Also, it contains the Student/Parent/Teacher Contract form that should be completed and returned to Mrs. Myers, as well as a copy of the Participation Fee Form.  

T-Shirt Design Contest Flyer:  All students are encouraged to submit their ideas for this year’s t-shirt design.  Deadline for submissions is September 30.  Students will vote on the winning design and a shirt will be ordered for all orchestra students.

Mrs. Myers and the Orchestra Booster Club officers look forward to a fabulous year of music and fun.  See you on the 8th!!!
