CHEESECAKE PICK-UPS will take place next Monday afternoon, November 25 in the OHS Lecture Hall from 2 - 4 p.m. Cheesecakes must be retrieved in this timeframe as they need to stay refrigerated and we cannot store them! Please mark your calendars. We need parent volunteers to help from 12:15 to 2 p.m. (sorting of orders) and from 2 to 4 p.m. (distribution of orders). Please contact Cheesecake Coordinator Tammy Ham to volunteer!

BARNES & NOBLE BOOK FAIR will take place Black Friday, November 29th at the Fair Lakes Promenade store.  Support the OHS Orchestras while doing your holiday shopping on Black Friday (any time on Friday is fine!) B&N will donate a percentage of all sales to our orchestra program! Gift-wrapping shifts will run from  from 3:30 to 11 p.m.  Student performances, crafts and story-telling shifts will run from 5 to 9 p.m.  Use the print-at-home vouchers under the "Barnes & Noble Fundraiser" tab of the Orchestra Website or mention the OHS Orchestras at check-out in the store.  You can also order online from November 29 - December 3 using unique code #11080439.
Mr. Oppenheimer will have student sign-up sheets in class. We need plenty of parent volunteers to assist with gift wrapping and voucher distribution. Parents should sign up for a convenient shift at the Sign-Up genius link here: B&N Parent Volunteers. We appreciate your support! Please contact B&N Coordinator Connie Lehman with questions.

United Airlines has invited us to perform holiday music in the concourse to boost seasonal spirit for tired travelers.  This is not a mandatory event, but participation is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED - participants will earn points towards their Orchestra Letter and community service hours for NHS or other purposes (and it will also be just plain fun).  School bus will transport kids to and from the airport. Mr. Oppenheimer will be distributing more details soon. WE NEED 6 OR 7 PARENT CHAPERONES TO HELP SUPERVISE!!! Please contact Patty Lankenau to volunteer ASAP as we need to provide the TSA with a fixed list of personnel very soon so that the clearance process can get underway.  Please contact Mr. Oppenheimer with questions.

ROOM PARENT NEEDED FOR CONCERT ORCHESTRA! We need one or two more room parents for the Concert Orchestra! Please don't neglect this terrific group of kids! Parents are need to volunteer for concert support (checking in the kids before each concert) and coordinating celebratory festivities (providing goodies after each terrific concert)!  Please contact Patty Lankenau if you can serve as a room parent for the concert class.

Have a super rest of the week!
