to our students for their resounding success at the Festival of Music in NYC!
The Chamber Orchestra was the 1st Place orchestra with a rating of "Superior", and the Symphoconcert Orchestra took 2nd Place with a rating of "Excellent".  The Chamber Orchestra also received the award for "Best Overall Orchestra" and received the highest score (by far!) of ALL GROUPS participating in the festival, including all bands and choral groups.  Equally impressive was the SUPERIOR conduct of all our students - your good manners, poise and maturity drew rave reviews from festival coordinators, bus drivers, chaperones, tour guide Brent and our esteemed Mr. Oppenheimer.  All parents should be extraordinarily PROUD of you. You represented your school and community superbly.

THANK YOU to our most amazing chaperones Anne Suh, Li Wang, Denise Jacobs, Kathy Tracey, Luz Blakney and Patty Lankenau for their tremendous contribution of time and skills in successfully shepherding our children to and from the Big Apple and attending to their needs.  To tell the truth, it really wasn't hard duty because the kids were so FABULOUS, but the days were long and tiring.  Your devotion to our kids is very much appreciated.

MEDICINES checked in for the trip need to be picked up from Mr. Oppenheimer. FCPS regulations prohibit him from sending medication home with your student.  Please contact Mr. Oppenheimer to arrange for retrieving your child's medicine.
PHOTOS WANTED for our website and to produce a commemorative video of our time together.  Many students and chaperones were busy taking photos throughout the trip and we'd love for you to share them with us.  Please upload your treasure trove of memories to Photobucket, Picasa, Flicker or Shutterfly and share the link with Patty Lankenau or download them to a flashdrive or disk and bring to Mr. Oppenheimer. We want to share all of our wonderful memories each other.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
