:  We need about dozen more participants to make this year's trip financially feasible.  If you inadvertently forgot to send in your trip intent form and initial deposit, please do so this week!  We really want you to join us for the fun and festivities!  Download Orlando trip from the  Forms and Documents page.
FALL CONCERT:  This Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m., OHS Auditorium (Musicians report at 6 p.m.).  This is our annual COSTUME concert.  Wear a silly, sporty or scary costume - your choice.  Please surprise us with your creativity - just make sure your choice is dress code appropriate. We are hosting Luther Jackson Advanced Orchestra this year. Please invite family and friends to join us for this festive evening.
UNIFORMS ORDERS PAST DUE:  Unless you want to wear your Halloween costume for the remaining concerts of the year, please send in your payments for your concert attire THIS WEEK.  We need to send in the final order pronto so that all the uniforms will be here for our holiday concert in December.
CHEESECAKE FUNDRAISER KICKOFF:  Our most profitable fundraiser of the year kicked off last week.  All orders/payments are due next week, November 1. Deliveries will take place November 21, just in time for Thanksgiving!  Don't miss out on this easy, and tasty way to raise funds for your student account.  100% of all profits are yours!!!  Event coordinator Kim Mitchell will need a couple of parent volunteers to help with delivery distribution on the afternoon of the 21st.
FYI:  The OHS Chamber Quartet (composed of Irene Lee, Alice Xiang, Mikey Lankenau and Mike Dettmar) are performing a program next Saturday, October 29 for the NSO Women's Club.  Wish them luck and nimble fingers!  This is one of many community performance opportunities that will be available this year for students interested in sharpening their performance skills - including the B&N event below.  Please answer the call to volunteer when it arises!
BARNES AND NOBLE BOOK FAIR:  Coming up Black Friday, November 25.  This awesome fundraiser involves student ensemble performances, gift wrapping, face painting and crafting. B&N will donate a percentage of all store and online sales to our program upon presentaiton of book fair vouchers.  Download vouchers from the Barnes & Noble Bookfair page.  Student and PARENT volunteers are needed in order to make this a success.  If you are a parent who is able to assist the day of the event, please contact me or Deb Myers to volunteer (either to chaperone or distribute vouchers).
Can't wait to see you on Thursday!
