The Barnes & Noble Book Fair Benefiting the OHS Orchestras Continues!

Thanks to all of our wonderful orchestra families who volunteered precious holiday time yesterday to supervise, perform, gift wrap, paint faces, read stories and SHOP to support the orchestra program. A special shout-out to the following folks who went above and beyond by being onsite for numerous hours (4 or more!) to ensure the event's success:  Connie Lehman (event coordinator), Brian Lehman, the entire Jacobs family (Nina, Denise and Peter), Ian Johnson, Annika Lee, Zander Fulton, and our fearless leader, Max Oppenheimer, who even joined the student musicians to play violin for a few shifts!  We sincerely appreciate ALL the students and parents who contributed their time and talents to represent to the community the excellence of our orchestras, and especially, the excellence of our kids. The store manager noted that several customers went out of their way to compliment the students' conduct, kindness, talents and manners. We absolute love showing you off to the world!

In case you didn't have the opportunity to shop yesterday, you can still contribute to the Book Fair's success the next few days!  Shop at the Fair Lakes Promenade store through Sunday, December 1 and mention the "Oakton Orchestras" at the register - the store will contribute a percentage of your purchase to our program. You can also shop online through Tuesday, December 3 using unique code #11080439.  Books, calendars, games, puzzles, music and more make terrific holiday gifts.

Happy shopping, and enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend!
