2010/2011 Orchestra - KUDOS TO ALL!

posted Jun 13, 2011, 7:44 PM by Oakton Orchestras
AT THE RISK OF REDUNDANCY, THANKS TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL ORCHESTRA FAMILIES FOR MAKING THIS YEAR'S PROGRAM SO SUCCESSFUL!  In particular (but in no particular order):

THANKS to Kathy Rigo, Yon Kim, Cris Cerva and Deb MacLean for organizing such a delicious and festive awards dinner. Thanks also to all the unsung heroes (students, parents, spouses and friends) who pitched in for set-up and clean-up duty.  Your efforts made the evening a real treat for all of us.

THANKS to all student musicians for such a wonderful musical program on Thursday night.  We especially enjoyed the awesome solos by talented and brave seniors Joyce Huang, Wendy Xue and Andrew Lankenau, and the special performance by guest stars Dr. Banbury and Mr. Comstock.

THANKS to our Student Officers for organizing a fun bowling outing Saturday evening - pizza, fries, cake and comraderie with friends can't be beat.  (And did you know that bowling is a remarkable exercise for toning your bow arm??)

THANKS to committee chairs Rita Dettmar (who hates it when I thank her publically), Kim Mitchell, Cris Cerva, Sheila Hautbois, Bill Lankenau, Anne Suh and Kathy Rigo.

THANKS to my fellow Booster Club Officers Wendy Smith, Diane Farmer and Margaret Bassett for your YEARS of tireless service to our kids in many different roles.  Your dedication to our program has been vital to its success.

THANKS to our fearless spring trip chaperones Henry Griffis, Susan Geshan, Connie Lehman, Kathy Johnson, Marie Colturi and Margaret Bassett who sacrificed sleep and sanity to keep our kids safe and happy in the Big City.

THANKS to all unnamed parents who have jumped in to help whenever we have needed you.  Even though you don't always receive public acknowledgement, your contributions are priceless and immensely valued nonetheless.

THANKS DEB MYERS for your tireless devotion to our kids and our program.

ALL OUR STUDENT MUSICIANS for always giving your best and for being such terrific people.  The best part of my job is getting to know you and enjoying your company.  Best of luck to our seniors.  WE WILL MISS YOU!
