HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY! This week's reminders - CONCERT (ALL ORCHESTRAS):
This Thursday, February 23rd, 7 p.m. OHS Auditorium. This is our
annual pre-Festival concert. Attendance is mandatory for all students.
All family members are encouraged to attend for an evening of beautiful
music!
COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER SUCCESS!: The last fundraiser before our Orlando trip was a terrific success. Many thanks to organizer Rita Dettmar for all of her help in organizing this for the past four years! Happy baking!
ORLANDO TRIP: Due
to successful fundraising efforts, the final trip cost came in lower
than anticipated: $675 per participant! Thanks to all families who
supported fundrasing efforts to make the trip affordable. Diane Farmer,
our treasurer, has reconciled student accounts for the trip. Those
students who have a balance due will be receiving a statement shortly; please send in your balance ASAP as we are making our final payment to the travel company now. Overpayments
are being returned to you unless you have instructed Diane to retain
overpayments in your student's account to be used toward future program
expenses. ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING STUDENT ACCCOUNTS SHOULD BE DIRECTED
TO DIANE FARMER AT dianea.farmer@verizon.net.
KOREAN AMERICAN FAMILY INITIATIVE:
In an effort to improve communications and encourage parental
participation from all of our wonderful orchestra families, the Booster
Club is initiating a new liaison program with our Korean American
families. Please come to the concert on Thursday to hear more and meet
our new liaison leaders!

NOW THAT YOU'RE DONE DIGESTING THANKSGIVING DINNER, HERE'S A FEW MORE MORSELS TO CHEW ON!
CHEESECAKE FUNDRAISER SUCCESS! A HUGE THANK YOU to all orchestra families who made this year's cheesecake fundraiser an unprecedented success, especially Kim Mitchell (quadruple crown cheesecake cheiftan), distribution helpers Rita Dettmar, Diane and Emily Farmer, Reggie Kilner, Chris Cerva,
all unnamed helpers, student cheesecake hawkers, and their ever
supportive parents and families who sacrificed calories for this most
worthy cause. We raised over $2,300, which will be credited to student
accounts to defray spring trip and other programming costs.

face painters, and (drum roll) all of our awesome parent volunteers who
took time from their precious holiday schedules to support our kids: Chris Dettmar, Connie Lehman, Kathy Rigo, Connie and Chuck Parrot, Ivy Avila, Reggie Kilner, Chi Wai, Jhinuk Hasan-Fulton and
all the other un-sung heroes who lent a hand or spent a buck. We'll
have a final report of profits in about two weeks, but in the meantime,
feel proud for representing yourselves and our orchestra program to a
most appreciative community.
WHEN: Saturday, December 3rd, 4:00 – 9:00 PM
